Week 224 “Slouching Toward Bethlehem”

in 238 Weeks,Money

Here in week 224 we decided to make use of Angel in a slightly different way. We’ve been trying to come up with ways to lose weight. Like many people we could stand to lose a few pounds and finding time to exercise always seems to be a chore. The Internet is filled with tips to lose weight, but I want to make sure that we lose weight safely. To do that we need to be slow and steady in our weight loss. Exercise is the key, of course, and diet.

We decided to watch Angel this week while we exercised. It worked out very well, with one on the treadmill and the other on the exercise bike. It was a gripping episode and so that made the time pass very quickly. Before I knew it 43 minutes was up. I don’t know that this is the best way to lose weight, because it’s only cardio, so far anyway. But it’s a start. Maybe tonight will watch another TV show — we just started Legends of the Seeker, which is really fun so far.

The Angel episode this week is called “Slouching toward Bethlehem“. The title is the last line of a Yeats poem called The Second Coming. When Lorne tries to read Cordelia’s future, as she warbles out a Whitney Houston song, he gets very scared. He won’t say much about what he sees, but he does quote the poem’s last lines. So we are left wondering what could this rough beast be? I worry that it might be Cordelia herself, because I don’t necessarily trust but that’s really her.

I guess we’ll find out next week, I hope, who the Big Bad really is.
