Week 226 was a good one. Work is chugging right along, in spite of the gloom n’ doom economic forecasts. Truthfully the economic news does help inspire me to keep on chipping away at the debt. The sooner we are truly homeowners and not paying Bank of America for our house, the happier I’ll be. With all this focus on working and saving, I’ve let my exercise routine suffer.
I have about 25 pounds left to lose. For about a year I was doing good with the weight loss. Exercise, eating well, lots of sleep. And as we’ve turned up the heat on the debt reduction, well, something had to give. I’m ready to get back to exercising now. I know that the best way to lose
weight is to go slow and steady. Weigh yourself so that you know the truth of the situation and then get on the treadmill or the weight bench or whatever it is you are going to do.
There are lots of ways to lose weight and lose weight safely (Laxatives? No thanks!), but watching TV is usually not one of them. Thanks to my tech-head spouse, we were able to watch this week’s Angel while exercising! It was great. We both did cardio workouts while the episode streamed via Netflix over the Wii.
So, under Beth’s tips to lose weight we have Watch TV. I bet it’s a exercise plan many Americans could get behind. OK, enough about weight loss tips….. the episode! This week’s Angel was fun. It started out weird. We’re in 1985 with people we don’t know, one of them a little girl. At first, we’re like what is going on? Is Netflix screwing up? And then we realize it’s a flashback for a character we’ve not met yet.
The episode is called “Ground State” because this character’s ability is electricity. She uses her unique talents to become a high-priced thief and she and Angel want the same priceless relic. She wants it to finish a very well-paying job. He wants it as a gateway to find Cordelia. And of course, he does get the Axis of Pythia in the end. When he uses it, he sees that Cordelia is in a heaven-like place and he cannot think that she needs rescuing for there. It was very reminiscent of when Buffy came back. She’d been in a similar place and coming back was horrible for her. Of course, Buffy’s life and burdens are different than Cordelia’s — which would explain why Cordelia is begging for rescue. She is totally over this heavenly place. And for what ever reason, she thinks she needs Angel’s help to leave.
